Off Grid Kid

The Story

About Off Grid Kid

From military survival instructor to author. Why I write, who it is for, and what makes this different.
My Story

Twenty Years In Uniform. A Lifetime Outdoors.

I joined the military young and found my calling as a survival instructor: teaching soldiers how to find water, build shelter, navigate without GPS and keep a clear head when everything goes wrong. You learn quickly which techniques survive contact with the real world and which only work in books.
“The best survival kit in the world is the one between your ears. Everything I write is about building that kit.”
When I left the service, I watched my own children glued to screens and realised the skills I had taught soldiers could give kids something better: confidence, self-reliance and a reason to get outside. Off Grid Kid was born. Books that make survival skills an adventure for children, and serious, no-nonsense manuals on prepping and off grid living for their parents.
The Mission

Raise A Generation That Can Cope

Teach Real Skills

Every book teaches techniques I have personally used and taught: fire, water, shelter, navigation, first aid and the survival mindset.

Start Them Young

Kids survival books that build capability and confidence through adventure. Safely, and at the right pace for their age.

Cut The Noise

Prepping without paranoia. Off grid living without fantasy. Honest advice about what you actually need, and what you do not.

What Makes Me Different

01

I Have Taught This For Real

Most survival authors research. I instructed soldiers whose lives depended on getting it right. That standard runs through every page I publish.
02

Adults And Kids, One System

Very few authors write survival skills for both generations. My books are designed so families learn together: same skills, age-appropriate delivery.
03

Field-Tested, Every Time

If a technique has not worked for me in the field, in bad weather, in the dark, when tired, it does not go in the book. Simple as that.
04

No Fear-Selling

I do not trade in doom. I teach preparedness as a positive, practical life skill that makes people calmer, not more anxious.

Skills First. Everything Else Second.
